Hello,

My name is Allison Porter and I’m the Admin for Wilmington’s ControlAI Citizen Group. Our mission is to prevent the development of artificial superintelligence (ASI), a technology experts widely agree has a >10% chance of overthrowing human civilization leading to catastrophic collapse or a human extinction event.

Our group meets once a month in Wilmington to discuss and plan our actions to raise awareness to the public and politicians as fast as possible. These actions include contacting local representatives, meeting with lawmakers and community leaders, tabling at public events, and holding workshops to educate citizens.

If you live in the greater Wilmington area and are concerned about loss of human control to AI systems, this group is for you! You don't need to be an AI researcher, computer scientist, or have a background in politics. We’re simply a group of concerned citizens using our voices to push for regulation that will stop superintelligence from being created.
