A bit of info on our co-leads:

Ralfs:

I am an Oxford Student Studying Psych and Phil and trying to be as politically active as I can to create a world for the people, by the people. My work in ControlAI is just one wonderful part of that.

Simon:

I am an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick, working in medical ethics and law. I'm motivated by a desire to avoid the worst catastrophic risks from AI.

Sean:

I am a third-year DPhil student at the University of Oxford. Previously, I was a research scientist at Pattern Bio and graduated first in my class with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from ETH Zurich. I've been concerned about the existential risks posed by advanced AI systems since reading Nick Bostrom’s Superintelligence in 2016. Given the current state of technical alignment science, I believe informed governance and civic engagement are the most effective strategies for addressing this challenge.
